Nowadays western house are built increasingly vary.

Domestic Architecture

Early Forms and Materials. The earliest houses were circular in form, perhaps a legacy of cave shelters. The first known example of a permanent settlement is the village of Zawl Chenui (c. 9000 BC) on the Turkish – Iranian border. It consisted of houses made from mud and reeds, with conical roofs and circular stone bases. The first known use of a rectangular house plan occurred around 7000 BC near Jericho in theJordan Valley. A major innovation in the history of house form was the development of the interior courtyard by the Sumarians in the 4th millennium BC, indicating that the house was now thought of as a place of privacy as well as of shelter.

With the emergence of cities, new form of dwellings were developed to house populations of greater density. At UR in Mesopotamia, during the Isin-Larsa period (2025-1763 BC), two story town houses with wooden balconies, a paved central court, and staircases were built of mud brick.

Brick of baked mud were used for the first time around 8000 BC, at Jericho to build houses with domed roofs to wattle and daub, stone foundations, and door opening-features that suggest a desire to build permanent settlements. Curved on one long side and straight on all the others, baked bricks allowed builders greater flexibility in shaping their structures.

Tall, strong needs, gathered from river marshes, were also uses to build houses in Mesopotamia. The reeds were tied together to form vertical bundles inserted into the ground. The tops of the reeds were reinforce with mud and plaster. The strength and flexibility of the reed led to important structural discoveries: the column, the building frame, the arch, and the vault.

Modern House in Western

Modern house in western is already different they build in many style, some of them built in multi-storey building. Some country in western country have their own regulation about this. How government rule their cities in order not crowded are very important. But to rule this is very difficult because infrastructure become very very expensive, cheap house is become impossible to look for. So modern house look like similar with expensive house.
